17-year old Skye Westwood, from Aylesbury, has won another Gold at the European Special needs Judo Championship in Cologne, Germany, for team GB.
This follows on from her win for the GB team (British Judo Association) at the Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi earlier this year.
Skye is the daughter of Trevor Westwood, who has worked at Westcott-based company Total Carbide for many years.
On Tuesday 29th October Managing Director of Total Carbide, Andreas Hohmann awarded Skye a further £1,000 to support her ambition of participating in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. The company have allowed Trevor - who is also one of Skye’s coaches - flexible working hours where required and is sponsoring Skye to support her future Judo career.
