In the spirit of giving, we are excited to announce our involvement in two heart warming charitable activities this Christmas. Join us in making a difference and spreading joy to those in need within the local community.
The first initiative is in support of The Bernwode Community Bus, affectionately known as the Bernie Bus. This incredible organisation, powered by dedicated volunteers and a fleet of minibuses, serves the North Bucks area.
This Christmas, they aim to collect an astounding 10,000 cans of food for the local food bank, ensuring that families facing hardship can enjoy a nourishing meal during the festive season.
To contribute to this noble cause, we have set up a collection box just outside the Westcott Gatehouse. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
Additionally, the Bernie Bus is running a Christmas Hamper appeal in collaboration with the food bank at the storehouse. Over the years, they have successfully raised funds to provide more than two hundred Christmas hampers to families in need. These hampers contain all the essential ingredients for a delightful Christmas dinner, from succulent chicken and fresh vegetables to indulgent Christmas pudding and festive treats.
Given the current cost of living crisis, the demand for these hampers is greater than ever. Therefore, the Bernie Bus is reaching out to local businesses, inviting them to contribute through corporate sponsorship. By sponsoring this cause with a donation ranging from £200 to £500, businesses can help provide over 200 families with a special Christmas to remember during these challenging times.
If you are interested in making a difference and getting involved, please reach out to Ashley at 07977 401548 or via email at info@berniethebus.co.uk.
In addition to the Bernie Bus appeal, Bucks Inspire is collecting toys as Christmas presents for local underprivileged and disadvantaged families. You can donate toys directly to Inspire Bucks through the following link: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/inspirebucks Alternatively, businesses have the opportunity to sponsor a disadvantaged family by donating £50 through the same link.
Both of these incredible charities fall under the umbrella of the Waddesdon and Haddenham Community Board. Both charities will be giving a shoutout to all sponsors on our social media platforms, showcasing the generosity and compassion of the Westcott Venture Park community.
Jayne Cannell, Business Park Manager said: “Let's come together as a community and make a significant impact on the lives of those in need. Your support will go a long way in bringing joy and relief to families who need it most.”
