Organised by the Skills Funding Agency, The National Apprenticeship Service will exhibit at the park as part of the employment engagement strategy in the Buckinghamshire area. Dedicated employer teams will be on hand to guide businesses through the process and benefits of hiring an apprentice.
An Apprenticeship is a way for young people and adult learners to earn while they learn in a real job, gaining a real qualification and a real future. Hiring apprentices helps businesses to grow their own talent by developing a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce. Other benefits reported by apprentice-employers include improved product or service, the introduction of new ideas to the organisation, improved staff morale and better staff retention, each mentioned by around two-thirds of employers.
Commenting on the visit Colin Theobald, Director at Lambert Smith Hampton and Managing Agent at Westcott Venture Park says: “We are delighted to be the chosen Buckinghamshire business park to host the Apprenticeship Employer Bus and look forward to welcoming businesses onto the park on the day. Westcott Venture Park has been home to a long line of apprentices, some whom are still working at the park today. It is a tried and tested method and we are strong advocates of park tenants' employing apprentices to solve our engineering skills shortage with home grown talent.”
If your business is interested in learning more or if you would like to find out about the Apprenticeship Grant for Employers, visit the Bus on 10th December, which will be located by the Gate House at the entrance to the Park between 10am and 4pm.
