The winners for the Buckinghamshire Business Awards 2021 have been announced and design and manufacturing company Total Carbide has won the Apprentice and Young Person Employer category, sponsored by Buckinghamshire Council.
Organised by Buckinghamshire Business First, the Buckinghamshire Business Awards are an opportunity for local businesses to show that they are leaders in their field who excel through hard work and entrepreneurial vision. Each winner embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship that makes Buckinghamshire renowned for business success.
Managing Director Andreas Hohmann explains: “We are delighted to be named winners of the Apprentice and Young Person Employer category of the Bucks Business Awards for 2021.
“This means a great deal to us - a company that has navigated all the implications of Covid-19 but still kept the focus on training, developing and supporting young people and apprentices to become the next generation of engineers.
“As a Buckinghamshire business we take pride in investing in young people, so they can grow and develop. This support covers working to inspire primary and secondary school children through to work experience, apprenticeships, and graduate placements, as well as working with Cranfield University and the Open University in developing new materials for space and rocket propulsion systems. So, to be recognised in this way as a regional leader in our work training apprentices is amazing.”
“I would like to congratulate our superb team for this achievement and also thank our supporters including Versarien, Westcott Space Cluster, Activate Apprenticeships and Westcott Venture Park.”
Jayne Cannell, Westcott Business Park Manager explains: “Congratulations to Total Carbide for being recognised as the best young person employer in the county. They are very deserving winners of the Apprentice and Young Person Employer category and invest heavily in training and development to provide opportunities for young people to gain valuable experience and develop the skills they need.
“We are very proud to have many businesses at Westcott which invest and value developing their staff through the introduction of new skills - clearly Total Carbide knows how to do this best.”
